Life in its real and dynamic colors form the major subject of Artist Anand Sharma’s paintings. The artist wishes to capture the daily life of common people which although being routine to the subject, brings forth the expression on their faces involuntarily. However, the expressions and colors are not destined to be left unnoticed. Artist Anand Sharma’s artwork intends to serve as stimuli to the observer, who feels a burst of emotional responses within and is momentarily left in a state of self-thought.

Working in pastel and canvas, he uses the soft tones and mixing, that pastels provide, to give his paintings a human touch, to breathe life into his portraits. Working in charcoal and canvas, he uses the two-tone shading to bring forth the intricate details of human faces at highly magnified scales. Working in acrylic/oil and canvas, he uses the rich tones that oils provide to give his abstract paintings a strong physical presence which is further enhanced by his clear vision of subject and object.
