Fantasy Art
Inside, the girls seemed dolled up from head to toe, as if for a beauty pageant, or say, for a fancy dress competition. Under the golden yellow evening sun, they looked stunning; sensuality seemed to come off them in waves. Colors shimmered from their attires, casting a magical spell. It was like a carnival of colors—flirty red and frozen blue, flowery pink and floral green, frigid white and flashy black, all around.

Artist Moumita Maity
Artist Moumita Maity was born and raised in Haldia Township, India.
I am a Bengali girl, and I am very grateful that I got a very loving, caring and understanding family. My parents got me into drawing classes before I learnt how to write A, B, C., so that, whenever I tried to write our regional alphabet ” Gha”, I instead would draw a shape of a human side face, and that was very fascinating to my parents. They understand that may be I have a little power of art😅.. So they started my art classes. I also joined singing and dancing classes..
.
After 9th I had to quit drawing, singing and dancing because of academic pressure and the huge number of tuition I had to attend.. there was no time for art or dance or singing. But I never stopped art. Art was always with me. In every class, instead of taking notes I used to draw on my books and copies..
.
9 years later, after marriage. when I got some free time I wanted to draw something. but there was no pen, pencils or papers which I needed, me in my in-laws house. I remembered having some left over pages of a very thin copy and requested my husband to buy me a pencil and eraser. I drew some sketches; it got me so much happiness for the first time in my long years. I found my love, true passion for art.. then I started painting on canvases with watercolor , acrylic, oil and mixed media..
.
I call myself a self taught Artist and that’s because I found my style and gained true knowledge on art all by myself.. because when I was in school and went to art classes, the teachers taught me how to draw sceneries, but the true beauty of art which I feel today is totally different, and that comes all from the core of my heart, my happiness, my happy space..
.
I found inspiration and beauty in all things, in human desires, in animals, relationships, in an insect’s busyness, in Ocean’s blue, in nature’s green..I find magic in all things.. And I try to capture and hold those magical feelings into my art. I love to tell fairy-tales in my own way.
